Many power plants use petrochemical fuels and high-speed turbines for power generation. Gate valves are preferred for on/off applications in power plants. Other valves, such as stop valves, are sometimes used. High-performance ball valves are widely used in the power industry. The application of power plants makes pipes and valves bear huge pressure, so the valves need solid materials and design to cope with the multiple tests of circulating temperature and pressure. In addition to the main steam valves, the power plant has many auxiliary piping. These auxiliary piping consists of a variety of stop valves, butterfly valves, check valves, ball valves and gate valves.
